Instant drug testing, also known as Point of Care Testing (POCT), delivers negative results within hours. Central Drug Testing provides instant drug testing services at over 3000 locations nationwide, seamlessly integrated into our LabCorp collection site networks. The initial screening occurs on-site at your workplace or at the LabCorp facility( also known as a patient service center PSC).

With instant testing or POCT at a collection facility ,NEGATIVE RESULTS ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE WITHIN AN HOUR OF COLLECTION TIME. This is particularly advantageous for pre-employment drug testing, enabling individuals to start work promptly.

In cases of non-negative results, samples must undergo confirmation testing at the laboratory and subsequent review by a Medical Review Officer (MRO), taking an additional 2-3 business days. The MRO contacts the donor to discuss any legal prescriptions that may have caused the positive results. If a legitimate prescription is verified, the result is reported as negative to the employer. If there is no medical explanation, the MRO reports the results as positive, listing the detected drug or drugs. After MRO review, there are no false positive results—these are final results. Fortunately, only about 5% of instances require this additional laboratory step
