DOT drug testing is mandatory before hiring and on a random basis during employment. DOT agencies require random testing for drugs and alcohol. In addition to pre-employment and random drug screening, a DOT drug test may be necessary for reasonable suspicion, post-accident, returning to duty after an absence, or follow-up purposes.
